Charles J. Mello

Pawtucket – Charles J. Mello, 65, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 12, 2016. He was the loving companion of Patricia A. Gaffney. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was a son of Eleanor G. (Lyons) Mello of Pawtucket and the late Joseph E. Mello, Sr.  Chuck was a U. S. Navy Vietnam veteran who served honorably for four years aboard the Saratoga and USS Firedrake and earned seven battle stars. He was a supervisor at the former Millbrooke Reel Company, Pawtucket for over twenty-five years, and was also a caddy at Wannamoisett Country Club, Rumford for over fifty years. Besides his loving companion and his mother, he leaves a son, Charles C. Mello of Pawtucket; four siblings, Joseph E. Mello, Jr. of Attleboro, Eleanor G. Mello, Jr. of Pawtucket, Karen G. Mello of Attleboro and Steven E. Mello and his wife, Renee of Lincoln and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
