Warwick, RI - Charles Francis Lapierre, 89, formally of South Attleboro MA, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026. He was the loving husband of the late Claire L. (Lafrenaye) Lapierre for nearly sixty years. Born in Pawtucket RI on March 18,1936, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Eva (Leonard) Lapierre.

Charlie served in the United States Army during the Korean War as a Sharpshooter and Gunner. He worked as a Chemist for Texas Instruments. In addition to his residence in Warwick RI, he was a snowbird, and spent winter months in Plant City, Fl. He was a parishioner of St. Clement Church in Plant City, Fl and the former St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church in South Attleboro, MA. For more than 70 years, he was a proud member of the Stone-E-Lea Golf Course men’s league, where he celebrated two holes-in-one and, in a remarkable moment, saved a fellow golfer’s life thru CPR. He was especially proud to be the cherished nephew of the founders of Stone-E-Lea. He was also a Lifetime member of the LeFoyer Club in Pawtucket.

Charlie enjoyed golf, Backgammon, shuffleboard, building models, horseshoes, bowling, and playing cards, especially Lapierre Family Pitch Tournaments, Cribbage, and Hand and Foot. He also enjoyed calling Bingo, running Chicken BBQs, and hosting the annual July 3rd celebration for family and friends. Like all Lapierres, he was a man that could do almost anything and wore many hats, such as carpenter, plumber, electrician, painter, mason, artist, tough-as-nails tutor in math, chef and he shared these skills with everyone. He was always the first to show up and lend a helping hand and later in life was the “supervisor of many projects”. He was Charlie, but had the nicknames, “Admiral”, “Stone”, “Ralph”, “Chico”, “Chuck” and “Chaz”.

Above all else, Charles was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many. He had an outgoing and welcoming personality, and loved spending time with his family and friends. Charlie will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched.

He is survived by his beloved children, Anne M. Gagan (Scott) of Pawtucket, RI, Jeanne M. Sharples (Daniel) of North Attleboro, MA, and Paul C. Lapierre (Patricia) of Seekonk, MA, seven grandchildren, Dianne Parker (Cory), Jessica Crowley (Sean), David Hall (Amanda), Andrew Sharples (Audra), Matthew Sharples, Evan Sharples (Taylor), and Tyler Lapierre, eight beloved great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Diane Thibault, many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins, and many devoted friends who provided loving care and support over the years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 10:00AM at Transfiguration of the Lord Parish at St. Mary Church, 14 Park Street, North Attleboro, MA. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery in Pawtucket, RI.
