Cecile A. O'Brien

Pawtucket – Cecile A. (Laplante) O’Brien, 97, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 24, 2013. She was the beloved wife of the late James H. O’Brien. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Mederise (Fontaine) Laplante, and a step-daughter of the late Rosanne J. (Gendron) Laplante. Cecile was an executive secretary for Stillman-White, Hammond Barrie of East Providence until retiring at age 70, and was previously employed by Microfibres, Inc., Pawtucket. She was a member of many area senior clubs and was a worldwide traveler. Cecile was especially proud of her visits to the many Marian Shrines. Mother of Gary O’Brien (Holly), Lawrence O’Brien (Kathleen), Byron O’Brien, Jocelyn O’Brien, Claudia O’Brien and the late Roger O’Brien; mother-in-law of Alice O’Brien and Kathleen O’Brien; grandmother of Kevin, Diane, James, Matthew and Kara and great-grandmother of Connor, Liam and the late Roger and Owen O’Brien.
