South Attleboro - Carolyn M. (McCormick) Hornig, 80, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023.
She was the wife of the late John P.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Frederick B., Sr. and Florence M. (Harris) McCormick.
Carolyn resided in Lincoln for the past three years, she previously resided in South Attleboro for many years.
A lifelong caregiver, Carolyn was a graduate of the Pondville Hospital School of Nursing.
She had been employed at the former Memorial Hospital of RI, Pawtucket, Kent Hospital, Warwick and the former Neighborhood Convalescent Home, Pawtucket.
While residing in Florida, she was a dialysis nurse and homecare nurse.
Carolyn was a nurse for forty-five years before retiring in 2006.
Carolyn was admired for her selflessness and always making others feel welcome.
She made a difference in many lives and will be remembered as truly being generous, kind, caring, understanding and compassionate.
Above all, she was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She leaves four children, Gail A.
Landry and her husband, Christopher, of South Attleboro, John P.
Hornig, Jr. and his wife, Jeanine, of Pawtucket, Pamela Lallier and her husband, Richard, of Rehoboth, and Dawn M.
Hornig and her fiancé, Justin Glode, of Oakland, RI; a brother, Frederick B.
McCormick, Jr. and his wife, Judith, of Swansea; thirteen grandchildren, John, Jenny, Jennifer, Kayla, Jamie, Jessica H., Jessica C., Richard, George, Justinna, Emma, Raegan and Mason; nineteen great-grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was the sister of the late Charles H.
McCormick and Richard J.
Her funeral will be held Friday, October 6, 2023 at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.
Theresa of the Child Jesus Church, 18 Baltic St., South Attleboro.
Interment will follow at Newell Burying Ground, South Attleboro.
VISITATION will be Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
