Pawtucket – Bertrand J. Theriault, 91, a retired educator, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2013. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Jean-Baptiste and Eugenie (Charette) Theriault. He was a World War II United States Army Air Corps veteran. Bert was assigned to the 8th Air Force in Thurleigh, England and flew 38 combat missions. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross; five Air Medals; two Purple Hearts and various World War II related military decorations. Upon being honorably discharged from the military, he pursued and was awarded a Baccalaureum Degree with Honors in Education and further received his Masters in Education, all from Providence College. He was a High School and Middle School teacher as well as a baseball coach in the Mansfield School Department for 30 years until retiring in 1982.
