Pawtucket – Bernardette Amaral, 60, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston. She was the beloved wife of Manuel F. Amaral for thirty-eight years. Born in Santa Luzia Pico, Acores, she was a daughter of the late Jose Francisco and Constanica Jesus (Silveira) Avila. Bernardette came to the United States in 1980 and settled in Pawtucket. She was a weaver at Murdock Webbing, Central Falls for twenty-eight years. Bernardette was a member of Uniao Portuguesa Beneficente, Pawtucket; Da Irmandade Divino Espirito Santo Do Pico, New Bedford; Tesoureira Da Comfratenisacao Dos Picoences and President of Irmandade Do Divino Espirito Santo Bemfeitores U.P.B., Pawtucket. Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Christina A. Duarte and her husband, Stephen, of Pawtucket; a sister, Maria Teresa Avila DaSilveira of Portugal; a granddaughter, Sophia Grace Duarte; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
