Pawtucket, RI - Barbara M. (Campbell) Spencer, 84, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025 in Providence, RI. Daughter of the late Norman H. and Victoria (Moussally) Campell. She is survived by her husband Herrick B. Spencer of 50 years, 2 children, Brian Spencer and his wife Carina Spencer, and her daughter, Megan Haggarty and her husband, Ryan Haggarty and her 2 grandchildren, Jack Haggarty and Eleanor Spencer.
Barbara was a graduate of RI College where she earned a bachelor’s degree in education. She completed her master’s degree in business education from Bryant University. Barbara was a proud life-long resident of Pawtucket, and cared deeply for the city. She was a teacher within the Pawtucket Public School Department for 33 years teaching at Tolman High School throughout most of her career. Barbara loved teaching and her students, serving as both a class advisor for many years as well as head of the Business Department at Tolman High School before her retirement in 1996.
Barbara was an avid reader and a talented sewist. She was a parishioner of St. Teresa of the Child Jesus in Pawtucket, RI and an active member of their senior and sewing groups until she became ill. Barbara was most passionate about her family, especially her grandchildren, Jack and Eleanor. She always looked forward to her next opportunity to be with her family, whether it was a birthday party, holiday, or just time at home with her grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. VISITATION will be held prior to the Mass from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Blvd, Providence.
