Pawtucket Barbara A. (Angiolillo) Slovak, 80, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 10, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Ronald F. Slovak, who passed away in 2022. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Romeo L. and Angelina A. (Cheli) Angiolillo.
Barbara graduated from William E. Tolman High School and went on to earn her degree from Bryant College. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper until her retirement.
Barbara was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and Nonna, who loved caring for her family and her home. Barbara enjoyed cooking, and loved to make "chi chi" soup for her six "cherubs" (grandchildren). She hosted family gatherings and milestone events. Barbara loved the holidays where she always made it magical for everyone. She was truly the heart and soul of her family.
Barbara loved all animals. We even nicknamed her the "Dog Whisper" who had the ability to make every flower bloom in her garden. She enjoyed spending summers with family at Hills Beach, Maine, and Cape Cod and going to her second home during the winter in Bradenton, FL.
She will be lovingly remembered for her sense of humor and loyalty to her family and beloved friends. Barbara will forever leave her mark on all whose lives she has touched over the past eighty years.
Barbara leaves three children, Kristen S. Nichols and her husband, Scott, of Seekonk, Derek M. Slovak and his wife, Hannah of Trumbull, Connecticut, and Jennifer A. Slovak and her husband, Ryan Henriquez, of Brooklyn, New York, and her six beloved grandchildren, Camden, Liam, Lyla, Kyle, Roma and Harlow.
We could not have asked for a more loving caring Mother. She believed in us and calmed us every step of the way, and even though we are overcome with tremendous sadness in losing her we find comfort that our parents are reunited. Mom you wisely said to Dad, "this is not goodbye but see you later."
