Pawtucket - Barbara J. (L’Heureux) Ryan, 91 of Westerly, formerly of Attleboro and Pawtucket, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016.
Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Nelson P. and Jennie B. (Manson) L’Heureux.
She leaves a son, Stephen J.
Ryan; two daughters, Jennifer R.
Beaty and her husband Larry, and Barbara S.
Bottone and her husband Nick Jr. of Hopkinton, RI and two granddaughters, Hannah J. and Rachel Z.
Barbara grew up in the Darlington section of Pawtucket and was a Rhode Island Honor Society graduate of Tolman High School in 1943.
She was co-owner of Ryan’s Amoco Service station in the 1960’s.
After raising her family, she returned to the workforce as a supervisor at the Providence Washington Insurance Company.
She retired from the Wilson Insurance Agency in 1982.
Barbara was an avid reader, but her calling was as an artist; her oil paintings are predominantly displayed in her daughter’s homes, including an original caption of the Old Slater Mill.
She also enjoyed golfing and was an accomplished piano player.
Ryan has resided at the Westerly Health Center since May of 2014.

Her funeral will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. from the WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in the Church of St.
Leo the Great, 699 Central Ave., Pawtucket.
Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.
VISITATION will be Sunday 1 to 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the Westerly Health Center, Activities Fund, 280 High St., Westerly, RI 02891 would be appreciated.
