Barbara A. Bertrand

Pawtucket – Barbara A. (Kolodziej) Bertrand, 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 10, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Ovila P. Bertrand for forty years. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Marie (Rzepecki) Kolodziej. Barbara was a lifelong resident of Pawtucket, most recently of Bristol, and attended Tolman High School. She was a faithful communicant of the former Church of St. Leo the Great, Pawtucket, and dedicated her life to caring for her children. Barbara worked outside of the home for Raytheon, North Dighton, and later at the former Texas Instruments, Attleboro. A strong-willed woman who was ahead of her time, Barbara enjoyed making her famous pierogi’s and celebrating her Polish holiday traditions. She was the “Grandma” of the neighborhood, and all the children enjoyed spending time with her and her grandchildren.
