Pawtucket – Arminda (Pedro) Sousa, 100, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2019.
She was the wife of the late Antonio R.
Born in Ludlow, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Clare (DeJesus) Pedro.
Sousa lived in Portugal for over thirty years before moving to Pawtucket in 1952.
She was a dedicated communicant of St.
Anthony Church in Pawtucket for over sixty years, a member of the Clube Social Português and Uniao Portuguesa Beneficente, both of Pawtucket.
Arminda enjoyed gardening, cooking, dancing and singing songs with her beautiful voice.
She is survived by two daughters, Maria D.
Johnson, both of Pawtucket; a son, Manuel A.
Sousa of North Attleboro; two brothers, Julio Pires of Portugal and Mario Pires of Brazil; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Joseph Pedro.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from William W.
Tripp Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St.
Anthony Church, 32 Lawn Ave., Pawtucket.
Interment will follow in Mt.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Alzheimer’s Association, 245 Waterman St., Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906 would be greatly appreciated.
