Figueiredo Fernandes, 67, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 22, 2023 surrounded by his family.
He was the beloved husband of Jane A. (Bronco) Fernandes for twenty-three years.
Born in Viseu, Portugal, he was the son of Eduardo "Eddy" and Maria Luisa (Figueiredo) Fernandes.
Ari immigrated to the United States in 1960 and was raised in Pawtucket.
He graduated from Saint Raphael Academy in 1973 and worked as a printer for Barrington Printing for many years.
Ari was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed saltwater fishing, hunting and target shooting.
He loved riding his motorcycle and left fond memories of him and Janie riding into the sunset twenty-eight years ago when they met.
His wife Janie always said that Ari saved her life from destruction when they met.
Ari credited his mother-in-law for sending him to her daughter.
His presence, passion for life and gift of gab will be greatly missed by all the lives he has touched.
Besides his loving wife Jane, he is survived by his parents, Eduardo and Maria Luisa (Figueiredo) Fernandes of Pawtucket; three siblings, a twin sister, Olga Fernandes of Portugal, Paul Fernandes of San Francisco, CA and Nancy Fernandes of Richmond, RI; four stepchildren, Lisa Goncalves and her husband, Jake, of Warwick, Steven Bronco of Burrillville, Freddy Shaw of Lincoln and Holly Costa and her companion, Joseph, of Connecticut; six step grandchildren; his beloved pug, Ozzy, and several aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
His funeral will be held on Friday, beginning with Services at 4:30 p.m. in WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m.
Burial will be private.
