Attleboro – Anne E. (Crocker) Slater, 76, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 15, 2023.

She was the beloved wife of the late Norman R.

Slater, Attleboro Fire Department., Ret.

Born in Methuen, Massachusetts, Anne resided in Seekonk much of her life and lived in Attleboro.

She was a daughter of the late George I. and Norma A. (Rushforth) Crocker Jr.

Anne earned her Associate Degree at Chandler School in Boston and went on to a career as a Medical Transcriptionist for many years at Guild Orthopedics until her retirement.

She was a longtime member of the Memorial Baptist Church in Seekonk where she was a member of both the Bell and Vocal choirs.

In addition to her musical participation, Anne was a Deacon of the Church and was very active in many of the church’s ministries, and organizations.

For example, she was known as “Buttons the Clown” as part of the children’s ministry.

She was involved with the Attleboro Firemen’s Wives organization as well.

Anne was also a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) for over 50 years and a member of the Attleboro Chapter.

In her free time, Anne enjoyed crocheting, reading, playing piano, traveling, especially to Bermuda with her late loving husband Norm, going on adventures with her dearest friend Mabel Ann DeAmaral, listening to music, especially Hauser and caring for her grand kitties, “Hope, Luna, Tiger, Ariel and her late Bells.” She was an enthusiastic New England sports fan and looked forward to the opening of every season for each New England team.

She especially adored her children Scott, Tim and Amy and was the most loving and supportive mother.

She instilled within them her core values of Christian faith, compassion, and creativity.

Anne will be sadly missed, but lovingly remembered by all whose lives she has touched over the past seventy-six years.

She leaves three children, Scott N.

Slater and his wife, Amber, and her daughter Amy E.

Slater all of Attleboro; two brothers, Jeffrey Crocker of Englewood, Florida and John Crocker and his wife, Bridgette, of Manchester, New Hampshire, and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews who lovingly referred to her as Auntie Nana.

Also, her beloved cousin, Stephanie Carr of Rochester, Massachusetts, and her beloved brothers and sister in laws; Leda Slater of Attleboro, Massachusetts, Pauleen Slater of Cumberland, Rhode Island, Thomas Slater of Foster, Rhode Island, and Raymond Slater of Punta Gorda, Florida.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, October 21st at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W.

TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by Services at 10 a.m. at Memorial Baptist Church, 340 Central Ave., Seekonk.

Interment will follow at Woodlawn-North Purchase Cemetery, 825 North Main St. in Attleboro, MA.

VISITATION will be held on Friday, October 20th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
