Anna T. Guest

April 20, 1913 — February 4, 2011

Pawtucket - Anna T. (Niemiec) Guest, 97, formerly of Pawtucket, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2011 at Golden Crest Nursing Centre, North Providence.

She was the wife of the late Walter Guest, Jr. and the daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Mastalerz) Niemiec.

Anna was an active member of the Church of the Good Shepherd for over fifty years where she served on many committees.

She was a Sunday School Teacher and served on the Vestry.

Anna was head of the Food Closet and also helped out at the Trash and Treasure Shop.

She was Past Matron of Electa Chapter No. 22 and a Past Grand Matron of the Eastern Star for the State of Rhode Island.

She served as Rhode Island Grand Representative to the Canadian Order of the Eastern Star in 1983 and in the State of Washington in 1984.

Anna was a member of the Order of the Amaranth in Rhode Island, and an honorary member in Connecticut, New York and Florida.

She was a former Assistant Treasurer for the AARP Blackstone Valley Chapter 619.

Anna enjoyed spending winters in Sarasota, Florida from 1986 until 2002.She was employed as a weaver at Lyon Fabrics, Pawtucket for many years and was also employed by the Hindley Manufacturing Company, Cumberland for seven years before retiring in 1979.She is survived by her four loving children, Dorothy (Guest) Elliot, Walter Guest, III and his wife Linda, Peter N.

Guest, Sr. and his wife Linda and Marion (Guest) Lindblom and her husband Mats; seven cherished grandchildren, Liza (Elliot) Hall, Amy (Guest) Andrade, Elizabeth A.

Guest, Jr. and Rebecca L.

Guest and nine great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by an identical twin sister, Stacia “Estelle” Lavallee, Josephine Johnston and Barbara Hurley.

She was the sister of the late Veronica Pitas, Reverend Stanley Niemiec, Edward Niemiec, Reverend Francis Niemiec and Helen Wlosinski.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Anna’s life will be held Saturday, February 12th at 11 a.m. in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 490 Broadway, Pawtucket, RI.

Visitation is omitted and burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904 or the Memorial Fund at the Church of the Good Shepherd.
