Viens, 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at the Jeanne Jugan Residence in Pawtucket.

A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Rene E. and Loretta (McLaughlin) Viens.

Anita was a former Sister of St.

Charles Edward, S.S.Ch.) and worked for many years in education.

She was also employed by Miller’s Auto Body, Highland Textile, a CNA at Mt.Saint Rita and a homemaker at South County Quality Care.

She was a devout Catholic.

Anita attended Mass and prayed the Rosary daily with her community at the Jeanne Jugan Residence.

Anita loved to travel the world, i.e.

Alaska, Aruba, Bermuda, Canada, Hawaii, Ireland, New York, the Mediterranean, and Rome.

Anita loved music and theater.

She sang in the Lincoln and North Kingstown Chorus.

She volunteered at PPAC and The VETS as an usher.

Anita was known as “The Puzzle Lady” (word search, crossword and jigsaw puzzles).

She enjoyed BINGO, Hallmark Movies, sewing, knitting, reading, car drives and eating out at restaurants and spending quality time with her beloved family and many friends.

She will be lovingly remembered by all whose lives she has touched over the past eighty-six years.

Anita leaves her brother, Edward R.

Viens and his wife, Beverly, of Providence, brother-in-law, Eddie St.

Hilaire of Pawtucket and sisters-in-law, Helen Viens of Pawtucket & Denise Viens of Narragansett and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews and cousins.

She was the sister of the late Dora St.

Hilaire and Charles Viens.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 3rd at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the Jeanne Jugan Residence, 964 Main St., Pawtucket.

Interment will be private at Notre Dame Cemetery.

Visitation and flowers are respectfully omitted.

Memorial gifts to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 964 Main St., Pawtucket, RI 02960 would be appreciated.
