Woonsocket – Alvaro M.
Azevedo, 64, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024, surrounded by his beloved children.
Born in Praia da Vitoria on the island of Terceira, Azores, he was the son of Manuel D. and Maria L. (Aguiar) Azevedo.
Alvaro immigrated to the United States in 1973 and settled in Rhode Island.
He worked at General Cable, Lincoln, for thirty-five years until retiring in 2013.
One of the many accomplishments Alvaro was proud of was becoming a US citizen in 2016.
He was a very hard working and generous man who always provided for his family.
Alvaro enjoyed being with his children and granddaughters, fishing, relaxing at the beach and spending time outdoors in his yard.
He always had a great sense of humor that showed through until the very end.
You could always count on him to be the life of the party whether it be on the dance floor or bringing laughter to the crowd with his social personality.
He is survived by two children, Sandra L.
Azevedo of Cumberland and Derrick A.
Azevedo of Cumberland, three granddaughters, Julianna, Bianca and Alivia; five siblings, Maria Andrade of Greenville, Francisco Azevedo of Pawtucket, Paul Azevedo of Lincoln, Nelia Rapa of Rhode Island and Florida, and Adelino Azevedo of London; as well as many nieces and nephews.
