Alfredo "Al" V. Simão

New Bedford - Alfredo “Al” V. Simão, 67, also of Florence, AZ, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 16, 2021 in Boston, MA, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Linda (Maiato) Simão, who provided him with unconditional comfort and care throughout his illness for the past seventeen years. Born in Santa Bárbara-Além Capelas, on the island of São Miguel, Açores, he was the youngest of seven children of the late João and Ludovina (Vultão) Farias. With no formal education to speak of, Al used his strong work ethic and natural talents to create a livelihood for his family. He immigrated to the United States in 1971 and settled in New Bedford, MA, where he became a proud citizen of this country. Al worked as a foreman for twenty years at the former Chamberlain Mfg. Corp. in New Bedford. A gifted and meticulous tile setter, Al established East Coast Tile in 2001 when he relocated to Arizona, where he and Linda relished in their new environment.
