Alfred "Fred" A. Young

Alfred “Fred” Young, 84, of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 9, 2019, in the same home he was born in on June 30, 1934. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, Mr. Young was the son of the late Henry S. Young and Aurelie "Clare" (Morris) Young. Fred attended Pawtucket West High School and served honorably in both the United States Army and United States Navy. He was predeceased by his wife of 41 years, Diana, and his brother Henry “Harry” Young of Seekonk. Fred was an automobile and marine mechanic by trade and was the Service Manager of the former Colonial Motors in Pawtucket for many years until his retirement. As a young man, he was a hunter, but his lifelong passion was fishing and boating, of which he did mostly with his oldest son, Fred. Mr. Young leaves five children, including his son, Alfred “Fred” Young and his wife, Marie, of Cumberland, son, David Young of Cumberland, and son, Christopher Young of Virginia, his daughter, Gail (Young) Moniz and her husband, Brian, of Pawtucket,...
