Lincoln – Alberta M. Smith, 94, of Albion, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, March 10, 2024. Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Albert, Sr. and Sarah H. (McMahon) Smith. Alberta graduated from Central Falls High School in 1948 and went onto a career with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, where she worked in Washington, D.C. for over thirty years. During her time with the USDA, Alberta received many awards and citations. Following her retirement, Alberta enjoyed completing crossword puzzles (in ink) and spending time with her family. She always welcomed family and friends alike with a warm smile and a loving embrace. Alberta was a woman of deep faith and a devout Catholic who attended Mass regularly. Her faith and family were always first and foremost. Alberta will be lovingly remembered by all whose lives she has touched over the past ninety-four years.
