Adriano M. Couto

Pawtucket – Adriano M. Couto, 85, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, December 29, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Cecilia M. (Medeiros) Couto for forty-nine years. Born in Ribeira Grande, Acores, Portugal, he was a son of the late Antonio Porfirio Couto and Maria Lourdes Maciel. Adriano came to the United States in 1969 and settled in Pawtucket. He was a mechanic at the American Insulated Wire Company for nineteen years until retiring. Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Susan Auclair of Pawtucket and Lucy Freedman and her husband, Adam, of Barrington; a brother, Albano Couto of Riverside; two sisters, Sister Maria Clara Maciel of Portugal and Conceicao Pereira of Bristol; three granddaughters, Tessa Auclair, Sophie Freedman and Esme Freedman and many nieces and nephews.
