Scott J. Taylor

Scott J. Taylor, 62, passed away with family by his side on Thursday, June 22, 2023. He was the beloved husband of the late Brenda L. (Hurkett) Taylor (1963-2016). Born in Attleboro, he was the son of Judith A. (Dupee) Taylor and James H. Taylor. He loved his hometown of North Attleborough where he made many fond memories and leaves behind countless friends. Regardless of where life took him, he was always deeply rooted in the North and passed his strong sense of tradition and community on to his children. He made his second home in Wrentham where he raised his children, went fishing on the family Lake with his dogs, and spent his weekends caring for the yard while he cooked dinner on the grill. Scott worked as a customer service manager in the liquor and automotive industries for many years. An auto mechanic by trade, he loved tinkering, building, and repairing things in the garage or fixing things in the workshop. He looked forward to his annual trip to the “races” and any other motor sports event that he could find from drag racing to NASCAR and off-roading. An avid outdoorsman, he had a keen interest in developing his survival skills and often went camping or hiking in the mountains of New Hampshire and Vermont. With his adventurous spirit, he loved racing cars, riding his motorcycle far and wide, traveling to new and uncharted places, and searching for the best spots for wings and barbecue. He loved history, politics, and government. He enjoyed listening to country music and classic rock; watching classic movies, tv shows, and Saturday Night Live; and the Sunday comics strip in the newspaper. Scott was also a huge fan of the comedian, actor, and bluegrass musician, Steve Martin. His favorite holiday was the 4th of July with Memorial Day a close second. He spent the entire year looking forward to the parades, fireworks, and festivals to kick off the season of summer parties where everyone was invited and treated like family. In addition to his mother, Scott leaves behind his son Jacob W. Taylor; his daughter Susan J. Taylor, her husband Jose Luyando, and grandson Caleb; his sister, Jill Lewis and her husband, Gary; and his beloved cousin Jeff Charron. Services for Scott will be held at a later date yet to be determined. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
