Ruth J. Borden

Pawtucket - Ruth "Jackie" J. (Kent) Borden, 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, March 12th, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late James H. Borden. Born on April 25th, 1935, in Pawtucket, the daughter of the late John J., Sr. and Ruth (Thurber) Kent, Jackie spent her entire life in the community she loved and served. She dedicated thirty-three years of her career to the Pawtucket Police Department, where she worked as a secretary to the Detectives for eighteen years before transitioning to the role of payroll supervisor. She retired in 2010, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and service. A devout Catholic, Jackie was a communicant of St. Cecilia Church of St. John Paul II Parish and previously a longtime communicant of the former Church of St. Leo the Great. She was one of the first four ladies inducted into the German American Cultural Society of Rhode Island and was formerly a very active member of the PTA at J. C. Potter Elementary School.
