Robert D. Dix

Pawtucket – Robert D. Dix, 81, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2020. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen V. (Shinkwin) Dix. Together they would have celebrated their 45th Anniversary this coming September. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Irene and Arthur Dix, Sr. Robert served his country in the United States Navy and later worked for the United States Postal Service. After retiring, he pursued part time jobs at Teknor Apex in Pawtucket and Rojacks in Seekonk to which he rode his bike round trip 6.4 miles each day. His final and favorite job was as an Usher at McCoy Stadium, Home of the PawSox. Some of his pastimes included gambling and playing BINGO at Foxwoods and Las Vegas. He was a diehard fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and always had the flag flying on the porch and a TERRIBLE TOWEL in his hand. Bob also enjoyed frequent Disney Vacations and spending quality time with his beloved grandchildren. Above all, he was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. He will be lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched over the past 81 years. Besides his loving wife, he leaves four daughters, Kathleen M. Dieter and her husband, Richard, of East Providence, Sharon M. Terceira and her husband, Matthew, of Scituate, Rhode Island, and Linda A. Lafreniere and her husband, Raymond, of Pawtucket and Elizabeth “Cissy” Robinson and her husband, Dave of Columbia, South Carolina; two siblings, Dee Dix and Raymond Dix and his wife, Laurie, all of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren (with one more on the way); one great-great-grandson, and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Cathy Blouin and Christopher Dix, and the brother of the late Irene Seville, Anna Gion, and Arthur Dix, Jr. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, August 1st at 9:30 a.m. in St. Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by Committal Prayers and Military Honors at the Veterans Memorial in Slater Memorial Park, Pawtucket.
