Marjorie M. Fortin

Marjorie M. (Folan) Fortin, 60, of Pawtucket passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Francis and Margaret (Asermely) Folan. A loving wife and mother, Marjorie lived her life for others and believed in always being there for her family. She is survived by the love of her life of over forty years, Alan M. Fortin- Their two daughters Jessica A. Hughes of Biddeford, Maine and her husband Ben and Beth Huertas of Wayne, Pennsylvania and her husband Michael with her beloved grandson, Trey (Carmelo). She was the devoted sister of Ellen Mulkerrins of Attleboro, John Folan and his wife, Pamela, of Falmouth, MA, Carol Dusablon and her husband, Glenn, of North Smithfield, Robert Folan and his wife, Pamela, of Attleboro, Darlene Folan of Seekonk, Kenneth Folan and his wife, Kelly, of Windham, CT, Patrick Folan and his husband, William, of New York City and Kevin Folan and his wife, Kate, of Charlestown, RI , Sister in law Maddy Folan, dozens of nieces and nephews and her two beloved Siberian huskies, Ryleigh and Logan. She was the sister of the late Francis Folan, Jr., Barbara Folan, Daniel Folan, Ralph Folan and Edward Folan. Marjorie grew and operated her own successful company for over twenty years, working for several local law firms. She was a lifelong resident of Pawtucket, often found at a ‘giving tree’ at a local church or city hall. She delighted in helping others—adopting families for the holidays, fostering animals, and lending a hand for elderly family members being just a few of the ways she expressed her love. Through all of the generosity and service, she never forgot the care her own brother, Francis, received from St. Jude’s, often reminding her daughters to support organizations to help children. Photographs of Marjorie are scarce, as this avid Patriots fan (mostly Tom Brady) was behind the camera, documenting birthdays, weddings, holidays, and other family gatherings. If she wasn’t behind the camera, she was in front of the stove, preparing delicious food to feed and army and then some. Most recently, she rejoiced at the arrival of her grandson, and was looking forward to all the hope/promise/fun that this future generation would bring into her life. The family will receive family and friends on Saturday, April 20th from 10 a.m. until noon followed by Services at noon at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
