John B. Courtemanche, Jr.

Pawtucket – John B. Courtemanche, Jr., 89, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021. He was the beloved husband of the late Jeannette (Provost) Courtemanche. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was a son of the late John B., Sr. & Mary (Dziedzic) Courtemanche. John was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and went on to work for many years as a supervisor at Teknor Apex until his retirement. When not hard at work, John enjoyed having family, especially his grandchildren, and friends to his home for a swim in his pool or a meal and many good laughs. He will be lovingly remembered for his great sense of humor, sharp wit, and good-hearted banter. John leaves five children, John B. H. Courtemanche and his wife, Nancy, of Pawtucket, Donald Courtemanche and his wife, Patricia, of Narragansett, Mark Courtemanche and his wife, Lisa, of Athol, MA, Dianne Pelletier, of Cumberland, and Donna Viveiros of Riverside; ten grandchildren, Laura Herring, John Courtemanche, Nicole Courtemanche, Mark Courtemanche, William Seastrom, Danielle Brunett, Megan Viveiros, Tristian Pelletier, Jessica and Christina Elby; six great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Courtemanche, Laila Manza, Aiden Courtemanche, Emma Fox, Harper Brunett and Santana Seastrom; five siblings, Richard Courtemanche and his wife, Madeline, of Cumberland, Joan Lombardi of North Providence, William Courtemanche and his wife, Patrice, of Norfolk, VA, James Mieczkowski and his wife, Carol, of Ponte Gorda, FL, and Mary Lynn Booker of Woonsocket, and many nieces and nephews. He was the father-in-law of the late Emile Pelletier; brother-in-law of the late Joseph Lombardi and Clifford Booker and brother of the late Barbara Malloy and her husband, Joseph, Robert Courtemanche and his wife, Jean, and Nancy Grills. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Cecilia Church, 755 Central Ave., Pawtucket. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Mount Saint Mary Cemetery. VISITATION will be held on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
