Ellen A. Leland

Seekonk – Ellen A. (Petzold) Leland, 72, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 11, 2012. She was the beloved wife of Charles R. Leland, Jr. for 52 years. Born in Central Falls, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Eleanor (Sisson) Petzold. Ellen was a nurse at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Center, Attleboro for over 40 years until retiring. She was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of East Providence and the Memorial Baptist Church, Seekonk where she was involved in the Eliza Snow Missionary Society. Ellen was a devoted mom and she enjoyed completing puzzles and researching genealogy. Besides her loving husband, she leaves one son, Norman J. Leland and his wife, Dawn of Rehoboth; two grandchildren, Bianca Barrera and Ethan Leland; sister of Lois Beck and Paul Petzold and his wife, Carol all in Florida and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was the mother of the late Charles R. Leland, III and sister of the late Charles Petzold. Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the 1st Baptist Church of East Providence, 1400 Pawtucket Ave., Rumford. Interment will follow at Oak Knoll Cemetery, Rehoboth. VISITATION will be Friday 5 to 8 p.m. at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the Kidney Foundation Serving New England, 85 Astor Ave., Suite 2, Norwood, MA 02062 will be appreciated. www.TrippFuneralHome.com
