Pawtucket - John P. Kaveny, 90, of Rosemont Ave., passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012 at the Memorial Hospital of RI. He was the husband of Mary Ann (McCaughey) Kaveny. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Patrick J. and Julia M. (McCabe) Kaveny. John worked for the Pawtucket School Department as a teacher at Goff Junior High School for 38 years, and was a Past President of the Pawtucket Teacher’s Alliance. He was a Lector and Eucharistic Minister of the former Sacred Heart Church. John was also an Army Veteran of World War II. Surviving besides his wife are several nieces and nephews. He was a brother of the late Francis and Regina Kaveny and Margaret Kelly. His funeral will be held Friday at 9:00 AM from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Church, 195 Walcott Street, Pawtucket.
